Restaurants and Bistrots, Pubs, Bars and Cafeterias

The first restaurant in Hasselbacken, Dunderhyttan, was inaugurated in 1748.

The Restaurant Hasselbacken (Hazel Hill) began to be known between restaurants in Stockholm since 1760.
His real success, however, is related to Jacob Wilhelm Davidson who took the property and his management in 1853.
Since then, the inviting aroma of Arrack Punch Swedish, a favorite of cafes people of that time, perfumed verandas and banquet halls. (Arrack, not to be confused with the Middle East Arak based on anise seeds, is a brandy of various ingredients such as molasses, cereals and date palm wine. It is produced in the Far and Middle East and is particularly common in Northern Europe and in the Baltic countries).

In 1923 the building was destroyed by fire, but immediately it was rebuilt and the new one was completed in only 5 months.

In 1992, after a new and long restoration, the Hasserbacken reopened, offering to its guests the same meeting place and the same welcome as always.

Located on the beautiful island of Djurgården in central Stockholm, not far from the most important attractions of the city, that can be reached by foot, Hassebacken Restaurant is the ancient jewel of the Scandic Hassselbacken Hotel, a four-star countryside hotel in the city.
